We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Transport Supervisor on behalf of our esteemed client in Andover. This is your chance to be part of a team that values excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure all customer requirements, both internal and external, are met daily, acting as the dedicated management interface with clients to cultivate strong, lasting relationships.
- Operational Efficiency: Continually review and re-engineer operations to maximize efficiency, coordinating both fleet and sub-contractors for cost-effective solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Driver Management: Oversee daily driver management, ensuring all drivers are thoroughly debriefed and supported, fostering a motivated and enthusiastic team environment.
- Training and Development: Implement and manage a robust training program, including Driver CPC training, to ensure skill development and operational competency among team members.
- Out-of-Hours Support: Be prepared to provide essential out-of-hours support for customers and drivers as required, maintaining seamless operations around the clock.
- Vehicle and Fleet Oversight: Conduct regular checks on drivers, vehicles, and trailers to uphold the highest standards of reliability and presentation, leveraging Howard Tenens TMS for effective fleet management.
- Compliance with Internal Processes: Ensure full compliance with all internal processes and procedures to safeguard operational integrity.
Compliance and Legislative Responsibilities:
- VOSA Compliance: Collaborate with CPC Holders to guarantee adherence to all VOSA ‘Operator Licence’ legislative requirements, including drivers’ hours, tachograph rules, speed limits, and vehicle maintenance.
- Vehicle Defect Reporting: Oversee the systematic reporting and recording of vehicle defects, ensuring timely inspection and defect resolution to maintain fleet safety and reliability.
- Fleet Records Management: Maintain impeccable fleet records, including daily checks, defect reporting, servicing, tachograph calibration, and MOTs, ensuring records are kept for no less than 15 months.
- Health and Safety: Uphold all Health and Safety Legislation compliance, including SSoW, Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, and LOLER/PUWER/RIDDOR regulations, to create a safe working environment.
- Fleet Compliance Oversight: Manage all aspects of fleet compliance, including tachograph records and infringement management, taking disciplinary action where necessary.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Possess general transport knowledge and O-License experience, with a willingness to undertake training for a Certificate of Professional Competence if not already qualified.
- Demonstrate excellent PC literacy, with proficiency in fleet management packages and general IT knowledge, including Excel and Word.
- Exhibit strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently, thriving under your own supervision while also being an effective team player.
- Showcase excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing and maintaining productive relationships with management, drivers, and suppliers.
- Display flexibility and adaptability, ready to tackle unexpected challenges head-on with a proactive approach.
