You’ll be on the frontline, ensuring compliance with waste and recycling regulations, supporting residents, and taking necessary action to keep Cardiff’s streets pristine and welcoming. What You’ll Do:
Waste Compliance:
- Ensure that residents adhere to Cardiff’s waste management and recycling regulations.
- Educate the public on the importance of recycling and the proper presentation of waste to reduce contamination and enhance community cooperation.
Investigation:
- Investigate and address issues related to improper waste storage or illegal dumping activities.
- Patrol neighbourhoods to monitor for dog fouling, abandoned trolleys, and littering, ensuring public areas are clean and safe.
Enforcement:
- Take enforcement action where necessary; issue notices and assist with prosecution cases to uphold community standards.
- Gather evidence meticulously, record detailed observations, and write comprehensive reports to support enforcement actions.
Collaboration: - Work closely with local authorities, police, and environmental agencies to coordinate efforts and achieve shared environmental goals.
- Inspect public areas regularly to ensure they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all residents and visitors.
Administration:
- Maintain accurate records and handle administrative tasks efficiently to ensure compliance and accountability.
- Undertake physical tasks, both indoors and outdoors, often in challenging conditions, to keep Cardiff clean and appealing.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong communication skills—confident in interacting with the public and collaborating with partner agencies.
- Effective decision-making abilities, especially in enforcement scenarios to ensure fair and consistent application of the rules.
- Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
- Organised, with excellent administrative skills and strong attention to detail to manage records and reports.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
