(Commutable from Cardiff, Cwmbran, Magor, Chepstow, Pontypool and Bristol)
Pay Rate: £17.50 – £20.50 per hour (weekly pay, including holiday pay)
Aligra Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for a leading UK logistics company based in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for stable, well-paid work with consistent shifts, modern vehicles, and a supportive working environment.
Drivers with experience at Veolia, Tesco, XPO, DHL or Stobart will find this role familiar, although experience with similar logistics operations is equally welcomed. The position offers long-term security, flexibility, and excellent working conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 (C+E) HGV vehicles safely on trunking and general haulage routes
- Complete pre- and post-use vehicle checks and report any defects
- Carry out 2–3 drops per shift, mainly depot-to-depot
- Use GPS and digital tachograph systems effectively
- Ensure delivery paperwork is completed accurately and on time
- Secure loads in line with health and safety regulations
- Represent the company professionally at all times
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience
- Maximum 6 points on licence (no DR or IN endorsements)
- Good understanding of EU driving hours and WTD regulations
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach
