Position Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Administrator at our Newport operation. This challenging role is perfect for someone with drive, determination, and enthusiasm, ready to enhance our logistics operations in the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Movement Administration: Efficiently manage the administration of vehicle movements and associated activities, ensuring all processes are carried out accurately and timely.
- KPI and SLA Compliance: Undertake all activities in line with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLA), ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
- Fleet Resource Planning: Proactively plan fleet resources for the week ahead, ensuring adequate preparation and resource allocation for seamless operations. Track and support the organisation of vehicle servicing, ensuring timely service delivery in accordance with procedural guidelines.
- Documentation Management: Issue correct paperwork and manage driver bookings from the transport department, ensuring compliance with operational requirements.
- Driver Interaction: Engage in face-to-face interactions with drivers during pre- and de-briefs, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- System Monitoring and Compliance: Continuously monitor in-house and third-party management software systems, ensuring compliance with key system requirements and company standards.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all Company, statutory, and Health and Safety obligations, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
- Operational Collaboration: Work closely with key operational partners, including cross-departmental teams, depots, and customer locations, to support seamless logistics operations.
- Site Administration and Yard Support: Provide additional site administration and yard support during the day, adapting to the operational needs of the business.
- Reporting: Maintain clear communication with the Transport Team Manager, reporting on operational activities and any arising issues.

- Administrative Excellence: Demonstrates excellent administration and organisational skills with outstanding attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective Communication: An effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Curiosity and Learning: Naturally curious and willing to learn and develop, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
- IT Proficiency: Possesses intermediate IT skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook, enabling efficient task execution.
- Time Management: Ability to work to strict timescales, ensuring timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Legislation Knowledge: Familiarity with driver legislation, Working Time Directive (WTD), Vision, and consignment management software is desirable but not essential.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: A team player who is self-motivated, flexible, and confident, ready to adapt to the dynamic logistics environment.
- Health and Safety Awareness: General awareness of health and safety practices is essential in maintaining a secure workplace.
- Transport Experience: Experience in a transport environment is desirable, offering valuable insights into logistics operations.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30.
Pay: £26,000 to £28,000 (Depending on Experience)
