We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, ensuring that all items are transported efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance. The Van Driver will play a crucial role in supporting our logistics operations while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Duties:
- Safely operate a van for the delivery of goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly during transit.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Provide basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues as they arise.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or van driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards is essential.
- Experience with flatbed vehicles is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial for basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
