Aligra is recruiting for a General Manager on behalf of our client in Thatcham, we are seeking a dynamic individual to provide overall leadership and direction to the company. This is a full-time, permanent role for the right candidate.
As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment with the Board’s strategic objectives and driving the success of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee production schedules and output, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Manage technical operations and quality control, maintaining high standards.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing company culture that prioritises teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for the progression of jobs through manufacturing to ensure jobs are delivered to the customer on time, at the right cost, and at the correct quality.
- Set and monitor performance targets for the company and its staff, driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Develop strategies to generate new business opportunities, including identifying and targeting potential clients.
- Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities to promote its services and expand its market presence.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience in managing a manufacturing operation, ideally within the sheet metal fabrication or related industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management role within manufacturing.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, or business management are preferred.
- A full UK driving licence.
