Our client in Cowley is looking for a HGV driver to support their operation as a cover driver. This role is predominantly driving HGV1 vehicles however. As cover, your role day to day will vary, including trunking, shunting and deliveries. This will be 5 x shifts per week.
The role will be starting immediately.
Duties:
- Driving HGV1 vehicle as required to cover deliveries or trunking. (Deliveries up to 5-6 max per shift)
- Liaising with the Transport office team during your shift regarding jobs requiring completing.
- All vehicle checks completed to ensure the vehicle is safe to use
- Driving in a safe, responsible manner on behalf of the client you are representing
- Follow driver working time directive at all times
Requirements:
- Hold HGV1 driving licence
- Be open and flexible to driving different classes of vehicles.
- Be prepared to wait for your job, shunt or delivery. (Paid throughout)
- Hold CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good Knowledge of working time directive
- Maximum of 6 points on your licence
- Good communication skills
Pay:
- £17.27 to £21.27 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- start at 3pm – usually 8-10h shift
