Car dealer hit with council enforcement order for breach

A used car dealership has fallen foul of Warrington councillors after failing to abide by its planning permissions.

Warrington Borough Council has served an enforcement notice to Advantage Cars in Latchford after reports of it breaching its operating conditions which limit the amount of cars it can display.

The car dealership is allowed to operate under a number of conditions, one of which regards the number of vehicles that are allowed to be displayed at the dealership.

Warrington Guardian reports that according to the council’s planning portal, Advantage Cars has breached Section 4 of its operating conditions, which states “No more than 18 cars shall be displayed on the site at any one time.”

When issuing an enforcement order, the council must also publish steps that the relevant party can take to ensure it is compliant with planning regulations – in this case the council advises that Advantage Cars should simply  display no more than 18 cars on the site at any one time to avoid further action.
