Key responsibilities:
- Operate a Class 1 articulated HGV safely and efficiently, specialising in trunk haulage routes
- Maintain the vehicle to the highest standards, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products, adhering to all safety and hygiene standards
- Complete all necessary paperwork including delivery notes and driver logs
- Communicate effectively with the transport team and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
- Comply with all relevant UK road traffic laws and company policies
What we’re looking for:
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with current CPC and digital tachograph card
- Proven experience in trunk haulage, preferably within food distribution
- Strong sense of responsibility and excellent timekeeping
- Ability to work early shifts and adapt to ad hoc scheduling demands
- Knowledge of Reading and surrounding areas is advantageous
