Arnold Clark is incentivising sales of an pre-registered or used electric vehicle (EV) with the offer of a free home charger and installation until June 30.
The dealer group says the offer is worth £929 and includes an untethered EVEC smart charger installed by Arnold Clark’s own EV chargepoint installation business Bumblebee.
Arnold Clark acquired Bumblebee earlier this year for £2.5 million.
The group has its own specialist electric Innovation Centres in Glasgow and Stratford.
The first Arnold Clark Innovation Centre in Glasgow opened in August 2021, where the focus isn’t on selling, but helping to educate customers about the changes to the automotive industry.
The second Innovation Centre, meanwhile, opened at the group’s Stafford Motorstore in July 2022.
Both centres are staffed by “innovation geniuses” to answer any customer questions on EVs, Government grants, charging and new vehicle technologies.
Arnold Clark is diversifying its business into the EV charging sector with a £23m investment in rapid chargers to create its own charging network.
In an exclusive interview with AM last month, chief executive Eddie Hawthorne revealed the first delivery of around 560 150kW rapid charge points are due to arrive in the UK ahead of their installation of four-to-eight charge points at 80 dealership locations spanning the UK.
Access to the network will be 24/7, where possible, with charge point sessions booked via the Arnold Clark app and out-of-hours site access granted via a barrier ANPR-activated barrier system.
