Haslington Haulage, the reputable general haulage firm, has acquired four new DAF XG+ 530 FTG 6X2 tractor units from Motus Commercials DAF. The procurement replaces older models in the fleet which now totals 6 trucks and 10 trailers, enhancing its operational capabilities, reliability, and driver comfort.
Supplied by Motus’ Stoke-on-Trent dealership, the vehicles feature a plethora of premium specifications, including a DAB radio, a TV with a DVD player fitted above the driver’s side cab panel, a microwave, and rubber and carpet floor mats. The 12-speed TraXon gearbox and MX-13, 390 kW/530 HP engine ensures top-of-the-line performance, while the Xtra Leather Air Driver’s Seat and upper bunk offer optimal comfort for long-haul drives.
The livery was expertly supplied and fitted by Ginger Graphics Ltd, Crewe, while the DVS kit was installed by Auto Start in Fenton. The trucks come with DAF MultiSupport full R&M cover for 6 years, which includes all repairs, maintenance, legal inspections, MOT prep and fees, tachograph calibrations, access to the DAFCheck document management system, and UK national breakdown support.
Laura Smith, Director of Haslington Haulage, said, “Our decision to choose DAF was based on the brand’s reliability and the overwhelming preference among our drivers. The XG+ was selected specifically for its spacious interior, crucial for our drivers’ comfort who often live in the truck during long-haul journeys.”
She also added that the company was highly impressed with the new additions to its fleet and hinted at the possibility of future acquisitions. “We’re really grateful they were delivered in time for the recent Smallwood Truck Show. Our relationship with Motus Commercials DAF has been highly satisfactory – they’ve gone above and beyond for us and in particular, Salesperson Matt Durose deserves a special mention,” Laura said.
Haslington Haulage driver Martin Tomkinson lauded his new truck, noting its comfortable cab and well-thought-out features, such as the fully electric bed which can tilt for optimal TV-watching positions. The improved gearbox, the new steering wheel position, and the responsive control panel have also earned Martin’s commendations.
Haslington Haulage is confident that these additions will fortify their operational efficiency while ensuring a high standard of driver comfort and satisfaction.
