Having joined the Fagan & Whalley family back in February, South Wales logistics specialists, Alan R Jones & Sons, are thrilled to invest into their expansion, by welcoming two brand new DAF UK XG trucks into their fleet.
Delivering superior safety, the new vehicles are kitted out with state-of-the-art digital mirrors that provide drivers with an extra-wide-angle view – alongside increased visibility via a window positioned in the passenger side door.
They are also compliant with Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) regulations, making them ideal for entering busy urban areas and reducing the company’s carbon emissions. Not only is this good news for the environment, but it will also help future-proof these vehicles as the UK increasingly embraces greener initiatives.
“With a broader vision to extend our operations across the wider UK network, these new-generation vehicles are a great investment into our future, as they make it easier for us to expand our customer base,” says Alan R Jones & Sons, Head of Operations, Gareth Hall.
“Fuel efficiency was another important factor for us when choosing a model of vehicle. As energy and fuel costs soar, making small savings where we can is something we continue to pursue. The new XG DAF trucks set a new benchmark in transport efficiency with low vehicle weight, innovative aerodynamic design, PACCAR MX engines, TraXon automated transmissions, and DAF rear axles. The result is a 19% improvement in aerodynamic performance and a fuel efficiency gain of no less than 10%.”
“The new vehicles also offer enhanced driver comfort – which is something we’re always keen to improve here at Alan R Jones. Without our team, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today – and ensuring our colleagues are comfortable whilst at work is of utmost importance to us. Having just won the ‘International Truck of the Year 2022’ award and with so many driver-focused design features, the XG DAF UK model was an easy choice for us.” explains Gareth Hall.
“We’re thrilled with the latest additions to our fleet, and look forward to further investments within the very near future!”
