We are currently Recruiting an IT Service Desk Engineer on behalf of our client in Andover on a permanent basis.

The IT Service Desk Engineer will provide first-line IT support to all areas of the business as part of the Service Desk team. The role involves triaging and assigning support calls, providing support for Microsoft operating systems, and other vendor software. This position also includes hardware support, such as imaging/troubleshooting and fixing desktops/laptops. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing face-to-face and telephone support for hardware and software issues across the entire group.

Key Responsibilities:

Triaging and assigning support calls for the wider IT team.
Providing first-line support for Microsoft operating systems and applications, as well as other vendor software.
Offering face-to-face and telephone support for users across the group.
Ensuring all faults are resolved within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA), escalating them to other teams when necessary.
Managing faults throughout their entire lifecycle, proactively keeping the user informed of progress.
Diagnosing and resolving problems to the user’s satisfaction, either remotely or in person.
Sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues to improve the overall support experience.
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00 (Any 8 hours within this window, flexibility required)

Key Skills:

Technical experience in systems networking, databases, and user support.
Proficiency in providing support for Microsoft operating systems and O365.
Experience working with Active Directory.
Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users.
Demonstrated excellent service desk ethos, organization, record-keeping, and professional discipline.
Formal IT qualifications would be advantageous.
