Street Cleaner – Vale of Glamorgan | Local Authority Role

Are you looking for a hands-on role that keeps your local community clean and tidy? Aligra is recruiting on behalf of our client, a local authority in the Vale area, for dedicated Street Cleaners to join their team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, driving a company van, and taking pride in maintaining public spaces.

As a Street Cleaner, you will be driving to various locations around the Vale, operating equipment like leaf blowers, and ensuring streets and communal areas are litter-free. This role is vital for keeping the community safe and attractive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving a company van safely to multiple local sites across the Vale of Glamorgan
  • Operating leaf blowers and other cleaning equipment efficiently and safelyLitter picking and removing debris to maintain clean and attractive streets
  • Keeping designated areas tidy, including parks, pavements, and public spaces
  • Assisting the refuse loading team with waste collection duties as required
  • Reporting any maintenance or safety issues identified during cleaning rounds
  • Carrying out additional duties to support team objectives when needed

Monday to Friday: 13:00-22:00, with opportunities for overtime. 

Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Experience in street cleaning, waste management, or similar roles preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good communication skills and a reliable, punctual approach to work
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures at all times
