We’re seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join a busy local café in Basingstoke on a part-time, ad hoc basis. Perfect for college students who want to fit work around their studies and enjoy being part of a friendly team.
About the Role:
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in helping the kitchen run smoothly. You’ll be responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and organised, assisting with basic food prep, and ensuring all equipment is spotless and ready to use. You’ll work flexible shifts, mainly during busy periods, giving you the chance to earn extra money without committing to fixed hours.
Key Duties:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Wash dishes, pans, and utensils efficiently
- Assist with basic food preparation under the guidance of the chef
- Keep kitchen equipment clean, sanitised, and stored correctly
- Help manage kitchen waste and recycling
- Support the kitchen team with any additional tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is essential
- Relevant food hygiene certificates are required
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to pitch in during busy periods
Pay:
- £12.21 per hour
