New Inchcape JLR dealership to create 80 car retail jobs

Inchcape’s new Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Dual-Arch premium car dealership in Norwich is set to create 80 jobs when it opens its doors in 2023.

The Norwich Evening News has reported that work is now underway to create the new two-storey facility on land off Cromer Road, Postwick, to the East of the city.

The AM100 car retail group’s existing Jaguar and Land Rover operations will be brought together under one roof by the project, which will create dozens of new jobs.

Quoted by the newspaper, Inchcape Jaguar Land Rover retail operations director Alex Merricks said: “We are delighted to be on this journey with our brand partner.

“We are looking forward to welcoming customers, both old and new, to the centre.

“This significant investment will ensure our customers can experience these prestigious cars in sophisticated surroundings.”

The car retail group’s former chief executive, James Brearley, revealed plans for the sprawling two-storey facility in a profile of the business published by AM last summer.

Since then JLR has revealed plans to refocus its efforts on luxury vehicles, with the Jaguar brand set to go all-electric from 2025.

JLR will also be replacing its current franchised retail contracts with its car dealer partners with new agency model agreements.

These changes will be overseen by a new leader, however. Last week AM reported that current chief executive Thierry Bollore had announced his departure from the OEM at the end of 2023, citing “personal reasons”.
