Palletline awarded four ISO standards for fifth consecutive year

A constant team effort to achieve health and safety excellence across its operations has earned leading UK palletised distribution specialist Palletline four ISO standards for the fifth year running.

Quality, the environment, health and safety and energy management were among the areas of the business which satisfied the criteria of the British Assessment Bureau, which awarded Palletline the ISO 9001, 140001, 45001 as well as the coveted 50001 standard.

Ken Bell, Palletlineā€™s HSEQ Manager, said that to achieve the 50001 standard is a significant highlight with Palletline being just one of a handful of companies in the transport and logistics sector to hold the accreditation.

Ken said despite the continuing external challenges faced by Palletline and the wider industry, the accreditations were a testament to the collaborative efforts of everyone at Palletline and its members.

Health and safety has always been at the forefront of Palletlineā€™s strategy and the company is continuously striving for excellence. The companyā€™s award winning HSEQ Manager Ken Bell is a qualified health and safety auditor to 45001 standard and has also completed the 9001 quality lead auditorsā€™ course. His colleague Rob Carney, Palletlineā€™s Facilities Manager is a qualified 50001 auditor, complementing Kenā€™s skills in ensuring the award for the fifth consecutive year.

Ken said:

ā€œOur colleagues across Palletline are delighted that once again their competence, integrity and daily collaborative efforts to continue improving have been recognised.

Throughout the past year they have all been fully on board with our efforts for reaccreditation which is excellent as each and every one of them play a pivotal role, speaking directly with the auditors about their roles and responsibilities in the business, the processes they follow and our company health and safety policy.ā€

The accreditations stand Palletline in good stead as the company continues its drive to reinforce its position as a UK market leader.

In 2021 the 30-year-old business, the UKā€™s first pallet network, achieved a 19.4 percent increase in turnover, while the number of pallets passing through its system last year topped five million for the first time.

As well as its pallet network the company also owns Palletline Logistics, a national network of nine transport businesses which collectively employ 450 people and have built a Ā£50 million turnover.

Not a company to rest on its laurels, Palletline recently announced a Ā£6 million investment in capacity and IT projects over the next two years to help further ensure its long-term success.
