New service centres will open in parts of the UK & Ireland where demand for Hiab products continues to grow, as the company adopts an agile approach to supporting the needs of its customers.
The UK & Ireland arm of the Cargotec-owned business is continually reviewing the sales patterns of certain products, to ensure it can move quickly to put in place support services for customers in the right locations.
The process has been described as ‘taking Hiab’s service to the customer,’ and was evidenced by the recent opening of a new Authorised Service Centre (ASC) that specialises in MOFFETT Truck-Mounted Forklifts.
The install base for MOFFETT products has grown significantly in areas including Sheffield and Leeds, leading to Hiab partnering with the family-run SJC Forklift Services in Worksop. The company has over 25 years of MOFFETT experience and will add a further six engineers to the Hiab network.
In addition to making it easier to access Genuine MOFFETT Parts, including next day delivery, Hiab will work closely with SJC to ensure that latest technological developments in product are promoted to local customers.
Paul McCabe, service manager UK & Ireland, said: “MOFFETT as a brand is developing highly technical products that use digitalisation to deliver economic, safety and productivity benefits to customers. One of our roles is to support SJC Forklift Services in bringing these innovations to their customer base.
“Likewise, we rely on Authorised Service Centres like SJC to help us become more agile. As we grow a bigger install base, we need to work with key partners to have more trained engineers in key areas. “
Hiab has around 120 MOFFETT ProCare contracts already in place in the Yorkshire region, with businesses benefitting from tailor-made service and maintenance through the lifetime of their forklift. Moving forward, companies will be able to approach Hiab for a bespoke ProCare contract which will be delivered, on the ground, by SJC Forklift Services.
Andrew Hodson, authorised service & installations centre manager, added: “The opening of this ASC is part of a wider strategy to grow our service network so that we can support our customers better. By bringing SJC into our network, we will increase the number of engineers we have from 125 to 131. We now have 28 locations in the UK & Ireland and there’s more to come.”
SJC Forklift Services have been in operation for 28 years with owner Paul Clayton now running the business alongside his wife, son, stepson, son-in-law, and daughter. For Paul, officially becoming part of the Hiab brand has been the culmination of a career-long dedication to MOFFETT.
He explained: “I have always been loyal to MOFFETT. When you know a product, you get it in your blood. You have to be passionate about it, and everyone on our team is precisely that. We are well established, with a good customer base. Moving forward, we will be running alongside Hiab so that we have the latest technology and products, giving us a good mix and match of old and new.”
