We are carbon neutral.
Aligra has developed a climate strategy to ensure we are part of the solution, not the problem.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Aligra Personnel Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for our UK operations.
We recognise that reducing carbon emissions is part of running a responsible business. Our approach is to measure our emissions properly, reduce them where practical, and take responsibility for the emissions that remain while continuing to improve year on year.
Our reporting approach
Our greenhouse gas reporting is prepared in line with recognised carbon accounting standards. Our methodology follows ISO 14064-1:2018 and the GHG Protocol Emissions Standards. Our carbon neutral certification confirms that Aligra Personnel Limited has measured, calculated and offset all organisational carbon emissions within the Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas boundary.
Carbon Neutral Britain’s calculation methodology confirms that Scope 1 covers direct emissions such as owned or leased vehicles and combustion sources, Scope 2 covers purchased electricity and energy related usage, and Scope 3 includes wider indirect emissions such as waste, business travel, staff commuting, hotel stays and delivery related activity.
Certification and current position
Aligra Personnel Limited has been certified as a Carbon Neutral Business for the period January 2023 to December 2025. This certification verifies that the business met Carbon Neutral Britain Certification standards in measuring, calculating and offsetting organisational emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3.
Our organisation remains committed to maintaining a credible and transparent approach to environmental reporting and carbon management.
Baseline emissions
Baseline year: 2024
We have adopted 2024 as the baseline year for this Carbon Reduction Plan. This provides the reference point against which future reductions and changes in emissions performance will be measured.
Baseline emissions for 2024
- Scope 1 emissions: 24.2 tCO2e
- Scope 2 emissions: 9.7 tCO2e
- Scope 3 emissions: 8.7 tCO2e
- Total emissions: 42.6 tCO2e
Current emissions reporting
Most recent reporting year: 2025
For the most recent reporting year, we have modelled our emissions using prudent year on year uplifts across each reporting scope to reflect business growth and operational activity.
Current emissions for 2025
- Scope 1 emissions: 28.6 tCO2e
- Scope 2 emissions: 11.2 tCO2e
- Scope 3 emissions: 10.4 tCO2e
- Total emissions: 50.2 tCO2e
Emissions included in this plan
This Carbon Reduction Plan includes emissions within the following categories:
Scope 1
Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by Aligra Personnel Ltd, including company vehicles and any direct fuel use.
Scope 2
Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating and other energy used in the operation of the business.
Scope 3
Other indirect emissions associated with the operation of the business, including waste, business travel, commuting, hotel stays and delivery related activity.
These categories align with the methodology set out in the supporting carbon accounting documentation and certification basis.
Environmental management measures already in place
Aligra has already implemented a number of practical measures that support better environmental performance and carbon management.
We measure and review our emissions through an established reporting process aligned to recognised standards. We have also achieved independent carbon neutral certification across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
We continue to operate in a way that reduces avoidable environmental impact through digital working, reduced reliance on paper based processes, flexible working where appropriate, and the use of more efficient internal systems. We also continue to review business travel, commuting impact and energy use as part of our broader operational decision making.
Where residual emissions remain, these are addressed through verified offsetting as part of our certified carbon neutral approach. Carbon Neutral Britain’s programme confirms the use of recognised international offsetting standards and verified projects.
Planned carbon reduction measures
Over the life of this plan, Aligra Personnel Ltd intends to continue reducing its emissions through a combination of operational improvement, better data visibility and more efficient ways of working.
Our planned measures include:
- Improving the quality and consistency of emissions data captured across the business.
- Reducing unnecessary travel and encouraging lower impact alternatives where practical.
- Continuing to improve digital processes to reduce printing, waste and other avoidable consumption.
- Reviewing office energy use and identifying opportunities for better efficiency.
- Embedding carbon awareness into wider business planning, supplier choices and operational decision making.
- Updating our emissions data annually and using each reporting cycle to identify practical opportunities for further reduction.
Carbon reduction trajectory
Our intention is not simply to offset emissions, but to reduce the level of emissions generated by our operations over time. This plan provides a framework for ongoing review and action, supported by annual measurement and external verification where appropriate.
Net Zero target
Our target date for achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions for our UK operations is 2050.
Declaration
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed to support public sector and wider client requirements for transparent carbon reporting and environmental management.
The information contained within this plan reflects Aligra Personnel Ltd’s current reporting position, methodology and commitment to carbon reduction. Our approach is based on recognised carbon accounting standards and supported by independent carbon neutral certification covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
