Key responsibilities:
- Operate a Class 1 articulated HGV safely and efficiently, specialising in trunk haulage routes
- Maintain the vehicle to the highest standards, reporting any defects or issues promptly
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products, adhering to all safety and hygiene standards
- Complete all necessary paperwork including delivery notes and driver logs
- Communicate effectively with the transport team and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
- Comply with all relevant UK road traffic laws and company policies
What we’re looking for:
Valid HGV Class 1 licence with current CPC and digital tachograph card
Proven experience in trunk haulage, preferably within food distribution
Strong sense of responsibility and excellent timekeeping
Ability to work early shifts and adapt to ad hoc scheduling demands
Knowledge of Reading and surrounding areas is advantageous
