Job Description

Are you an experienced administrator looking to take on an exciting and dynamic role in the logistics industry? We have an incredible opportunity for you to join our esteemed client in Hinckley, supporting all daily customs activities and import/export processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive Pre-Advice and Shipping Documents: Efficiently receive pre-advice and shipping documents from carriers, creating system references in the WMS system by entering all relevant shipment details accurately.
  • Supply Clearance Instructions: Provide precise clearance instructions to agents. Ensure all paperwork is in order and diligently follow through to chase any incorrect or missing paperwork to maintain efficiency.
  • Check Customs Entries: Meticulously check customs entries and update internal files with the required details to ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Prepare and Submit Customs Declarations: Prepare and submit customs declarations for both import and export processes. Ensure the accuracy of data before submission to HMRC, including CPC codes, commodity codes, and other key details.
  • Monitor Stock Levels: Regularly check stock levels and resolve any discrepancies between the WMS and customs system, ensuring seamless inventory management.
  • Compliance with Customs Regulations: Ensure all import and export activities comply with relevant customs regulations and laws. This includes accurate classification of goods and correct documentation to avoid any legal issues.
  • Perform Regular Audits: Conduct regular audits of shipping and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency in all records.
  • Direct Communication: Maintain direct communication with customers, transport agents, and customs brokers. Establish and nurture relationships to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • Administrative Background: An administrative background is essential as comprehensive training in customs tasks will be provided, ensuring the candidate is fully equipped for the role.
  • Proficiency in Office Packages: Good knowledge of Office packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills: Exemplary customer service and communication skills are a must to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Own Transport Desirable: While not mandatory, having your own transport is desirable for ease of commute.

Shift Details:

  • Two Shifts to Cover: 08:30 – 17:00 and 14:30 – 23:00. Once full training is provided, the work schedule will only involve the late shift every 4 weeks.

Pay Rate:

  • £12.08
