HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) – Ashby – £18.17–£22.73/hr – 4 on 4 off

Location: Ashby-De-La-Zouch, East Midlands (commutable from Leicester, Derby, Burton, Tamworth)

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) HGVs on night trunking and general haulage routes
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects promptly
• Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and digital tachograph systems
• Complete up to 2–3 drops per shift, primarily depot-to-depot or trunking runs- No handball
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and ensure compliance with driving regulations
• Secure loads following health & safety best practices to ensure safe transport
• Deliver excellent customer service always representing the company professionally

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, UK CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1 HGV vehicles
• Maximum 9 points on licence; no DR or IN endorsements permitted
• Comfortable with 06:00 or 18:00 start times
• Strong knowledge of EU driving hours, WTD regulations, and health & safety standards
• Good communication skills with a professional and reliable approach

These roles use rolled-up holiday pay. A holiday pay uplift of 12.07% is included in your hourly rate and paid with each regular salary payment. You will not receive a separate payment for holiday entitlement when it is taken, and this will be itemised on your payslip
