Aligra Recruitment is working with a well-established UK logistics provider to recruit Class 1 (C+E) HGV Drivers for their Newport operation. This role is ideal for drivers looking for reliable, ongoing work with regular shifts, modern equipment, and a supportive transport team.
Drivers who have previously worked with Veolia, Tesco, XPO, DHL or Stobart will find the role familiar, though experience within any comparable logistics or haulage environment is equally suitable. The position offers long-term opportunities, consistent hours, and a good work-life balance.

Main Duties
- Operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely on trunking and general haulage routes
- Carry out vehicle safety checks before and after each shift
- Complete 2–3 depot-to-depot drops per shift
- Use digital tachographs and GPS systems correctly
- Ensure delivery documentation is completed accurately
- Secure loads in line with health and safety requirements
- Maintain a professional approach at all times
Essential Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DR or IN endorsements)
- Good understanding of EU drivers’ hours and WTD regulations
- Reliable, safety-conscious and professional attitude
